Phil Mihaly

Phil is our guitar instructor with 9 years of teaching experience. He is also an aspiring singer-songwriter. He teaches both the electric and acoustic guitar to students of all skill levels. He views the guitar as a flexible lead instrument, which doubles as the perfect accompaniment for vocalists or other instruments.

His approach to teaching is a mix of technique and theory. He offers plenty of techniques and exercises to help students smoothly transition between beginner, intermediate, and advanced skill levels. He also teaches music theory as a type of language in which we use notes, chords, and tonality to articulate our thoughts. His songwriting theory also touches on lyrical, vocal, and percussive analysis if the student has interest in those areas.
